Fall Mokodu
Mokodu’s sustainability lies in the uniqueness of his garments: each piece in the collection is hand-painted and embodies strong cultural statements. A vibrant celebration of diversity through the skillful use of styles and colors.
After an early start as a political satire caricaturist, I moved on to painting on fabric and fashion, beginning with painting on canvas and later experimenting with different materials. My artistic experience thrives in a personal multicultural dimension, enriched by a wealth of visions and sounds tied to my childhood experiences, all of which is further enhanced by a journey of research into men and women who have contributed to the develop- ment of African culture and world peace. My research explores the combination of art and fashion, creating unique hand-painted garments, but I also focus on urban cultures with urban regeneration street-art interventions, reinvent- ing public space through multidisciplinary artistic practices, in connection with both usual and unusual ways the local community engages with these spaces.
