In this latest project, the protagonist is recycled plastic (caps, bottles, small accessories, or plastic toys) that serves as the backdrop, color, light, and creates the “paintings” conceived by the artist. Essentially, plastic becomes pigment, it becomes color effectively replacing the dyes that, alternatively, should be used. The artist shreds the plastic into small pieces and reassembles it almost blending into a solid color. The base where the “plastic color” is imprinted and that contains the final work: panels of corrugated cardboard sheets or boxes recovered from local small traders. In short, apart from the necessary glue, the whole reflects the philosophy of the artist from Catanzaro: recovery and reuse.
